Motivational Story - How To Have Mentality Of A Winner

By Suhardi Csd Hardi

One day, there was a child who sold cakes made by his mother. He sold the cakes on the street or sidewalk where many people passed by. He did his routine activity by selling the cakes to other people who were passing by.

One day, he offered his cakes to a man on a street. But the man did not intend to buy his cakes. And then he took out his money and gave it to that child. He said, "Take this money, I give it to you." And the child then took the money. However, he did not take the money for himself. He gave the money to the beggar sitting next to him. Looking at what the child had done, he felt surprised. He asked the child, "I have given you my money, but why don't you keep it? Why do you give it to the beggar?" And the child immediately answered, "My mother always tells me not to receive the money from other people. We are not beggar. We take the money only when someone buys our cakes. Although we are not rich, we always work hard to earn money in the right way, we do not ask someone to give us money."

The man was so surprised and the words did not come out of his mouth after listening to what the child was saying. He was amazed at the child. And then he smiled and told the child, "OK. I will buy all of your cakes today. You have given me a very good lesson. How much do all your cakes cost?" Then the man paid the child for the cakes. The man got the valuable lesson and the child was so happy with the money that he earned so quickly.

Message for readers:

You can learn from the child at the illustrative story above. Although he was not rich, his mental is great. He did not take the money unless someone bought and paid for his cakes.

Often there are many people who are mentally poor. One of the factors of successful life is having the success mental or having the mental of a champion. If you have this type of mental or attitude, you will have bigger chances to reach the gateway of success although you have not been successful yet. It's not who you are today that determines your success in the future. It is your mental that determine your success in the future. People who have mental of a champion will always have high motivation to be a champion or successful although they were not successful in the past. Once again, who you were in the past will not determine your future. The past is not equal with the future.

If you are not successful today or if you feel that you are not destined to be successful, don't worry. By having mental of a successful person, you will have motivation to try once again. If you have mental of a loser, your action and effort will not be in full power that can cause you to achieve not-so-good results. A loser always has mental of a loser, a winner always has mental of a winner.

Motivational Makeover

By Ronnie Nijmeh

So often, we see individuals on television receiving a free makeover from a talk show host or a panel of celebrity "fashion police" on a reality show. The participants are absolutely elated with their new clothes, new hairstyle, and fresh new look. Their faces beam at the idea of becoming a new person - shedding off the old and taking on a new, different persona, like a snake shedding its skin. The transformation is sometimes drastic and commonly for the better.

Would it not be equally energizing and advantageous if we were able to give our personalities, attitudes, and thoughts a motivational makeover? We should not only want to look our best, but also feel our best and have the best of ourselves on display for the entire world to observe.

We can begin our internal renovation by making use of free motivational wallpapers in our workspace and personal desktops. Our senses and emotions are immediately heightened by these motivational wallpaper backgrounds. These jewels of photography and inspirational quotes can jar our outlook and attitudes. Our minds are excited into new thought processes, and our personalities have only to follow.

Motivational wallpaper backgrounds possess quotes created to incite a person to action. The presented imagery highlights hope, change for the better, success, and wisdom - all of the things necessary to makeover an individual's psyche. Real, lasting change can only come about if it derives from within and makes it way outward. These free and awe inspiring wallpapers help to boost an individual's self-perception, elevate progress, and add to endless possibilities. And as a result, positive energy emanates through their facial expressions, body language, verbal communication, actions, and outer appearance.

Free motivational wallpapers are tremendously engaging. The nature photographs generate a calming sensation and allow one to reflect on the words, which seem to speak directly to us. In addition, they permit us a moment to think about how the quotes apply to their personal and work life. The spirit is uplifted, and the mind and body are spurred into doing. No longer does the person want to sit in one place - in a state of complacency. The comfort of procrastination and stagnation are replaced by new momentum and direction.

Motivation is a powerful tool. If we can study and accept the benefits from its impact on our lives, we can undoubtedly attain a great deal from our personal relationships, our place of work, and ourselves. We live in a society that focuses greatly on aesthetics and pours millions of dollars into the cosmetic, medical, and fashion industries in order to look a certain way. We are frequently bombarded with "what's in" and the latest fads and trends. With so much being hurled our way to make us prettier, leaner, or more glamorous, we should not lose sight of the most important enhancement - our attitudes and characters.

By enriching our personalities with motivation, our inner and outer selves will receive the makeover they deserve, and our overall physical and emotional qualities will greatly improve.

The Art of Change - Resistance Is Futile!

By Camille Strate

Why in the world do we resist change so hard? Why is it that the moment we're faced with change we get so pessimistic? Why do we think that change will always equal disaster? It's such an odd thing to me that we do this (and believe me, I'm just as guilty sometimes!). When faced with any kind of change, whether it be a new landlord or a new job or the first wrinkle on your face, we go into a tizzy and start hyper-ventilating like we're about to be strung up on a rack. It's so....silly?

I got to thinking about this the other day when I was told that the property I rent is on the market. Apparently, the current owners have decided they'd rather take a loss than hold on to their many properties, in lieu of some other new adventure. My breathing immediately became shallow. I could feel the sweat on my hands and that icky tickle in my belly. OH NO! WHAT NOW? My first and instant response was that this could NOT be good. Why? Why did I immediately go there? Why did I automatically assume that a new land owner would make my life difficult? How could I know this? Why didn't I, instead, think to myself, "well, this could be a grand adventure. This could be just what the doctor ordered. This could be terrific!" Nope. Went in the opposite direction of those thoughts and I did it in a blink. SHEESH!

After I regained my balance, I got to thinking about the way I USED TO look at change. When I was a kid and I found out something new was about to happen, I'd get all excited. I would have a million 'super-cool' possibilities run through my little head, like I'd just found a magic lamp and the genie was about to pop out and grant wishes. I was the most optimistic little Being you'd ever meet. So what happened? How did I go from that creature to this one? How did I lose that optimistic perception of the world? When did I decide that change meant 'BAD'?

As I sat and pondered these things, it suddenly occurred to me that these thoughts of doom and gloom were a result of old tapes being played by someone else. Fact is, my whole life has been pretty charmed and no matter what kind of changes I've ever faced, I have ALWAYS ended up in a better place. Whether it meant moving to a new home or a new city or a new boyfriend (LOL!), it was always BETTER than before the change occurred. So where did this come from? Perhaps there's some residual contamination from those around me who ARE the kind of people who think change is death. Or maybe it's just some weird thing that happens after a certain age. Once we are faced with our own mortality, do we automatically see all change as a sign that death is moving closer? If this is the case, why are we so afraid of death? We all know that sooner or later we're going to leave these shells we call bodies and move on to some other realm of Being. So what's all the fuss about?

I have decided that I'm going to adopt the perspective of a 10 year old. I'm going to look at any change that's offered as a means to an adventure. I'm going to look at the possibilities as opportunities for growth and expansion. I'm going to embrace change, regardless of the form it takes. I'm going to live like all that could ever come to me is GOOD. Because the moment I bring my thoughts to this place, every single thing in my world looks like a brand new gift. It's all wrapped in pretty paper with a bow on top, and I have no idea what's inside. But you can bet I'm excited about seeing what it is! Perhaps if we all embraced change this way, we'd have fewer people on Xanax and more people living in enthusiastic anticipation. Perhaps, regardless of our 'age' or station, we could finally say YES to Life. After all, the only moment we ever have is this one. Why not make the most of it?

10 Ways To Get Unstuck Today!

By Caroline Jalango

Here is how to get your life, work or personal goals out of that rut...right now!

1. Clarify matters that remain unclear.

Are you stuck because you are in a mental fog? How can you possibly move forward with confidence if you don't know where you are headed? What exactly are you doing and what end result are you seeking? Resolve these issues!

2. Collaborate with someone.

Don't hesitate to reach out to people who can help you complete tasks, brainstorm or solve problems. Swallow your pride if you must; delegate what you can't do on your own and pay to receive this help if necessary! Whatever you do...get the help you need to get unstuck and make progress.

3. Ask for a deadline extension.

If you are working on other people's projects, ask for a deadline extension so you can "get yourself together!" Don't stress yourself unnecessarily because the project is due and you are experiencing "brain freeze." Ask for more time if you need it!

4. Fight the overwhelm factor.

Break down the task into bite-sized pieces and schedule specific days or periods of time to work on specific parts of the task. This will eliminate overwhelm, get you unstuck and make your work more enjoyable and manageable.

5. Conquer your personal fears and "just do it!"

Think about it...whatever happens after you deal with "your fear" is going to be much better than being paralyzed with fear and doing absolutely nothing with your life or about your work! So, why not take the worthwhile risk and go for what you really want?

6. Gather information about your area of focus.

Find out how others have successfully resolved the issues you are now facing and apply those principles to your situation. Knowledge liberates!

7. Know thyself and especially thy limits.

For example: if you feel that you have "bitten more than you can chew" be open and honest about it. If you feel that you have miscalculated the magnitude of the work involved in a project... inform the person who has assigned the task. They may offer a solution or ask you to work only on the specific areas you can handle.

8. Get some rest!

Are you stuck because you are tired and can't think straight? How many mistakes or miscalculations have you made as a result of fatigue? How many tasks seem insurmountable to a fatigued mind? Get some sleep and return to the task with fresh vigor!

9. Stop the struggle and get in the flow.

Sometimes it's important to be "stuck" and let life play out. It's important to learn and grow from the experience of what's happening and why it's happening at that moment. Who are you becoming as a result of being "stuck?" The life lessons are priceless!

10. Abandon ship.

As a last resort, if you are feeling miserable because you are "stuck" doing something you don't like, experiencing excessive stress over something you truly believe you can't do or make progress on...be kind to yourself and "dump" it!

Preparation - The Docking Station of Opportunity

By Mark A. Singh

Many people watch opportunities pass them by throughout their lives. Opportunities to grow wealth, to get better jobs, to flourish and so on. Do you know why opportunities pass people by? Preparation. The lack of it to be more exact. It was Abraham Lincoln who said, "give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." That is the spirit of one who prepares. More time should be spent preparing for the opportunity.

Most people spend their lifetime imagining the opportunity coming their way, however they spend little or no time preparing for the opportunity. Here is a principle: Opportunity needs a docking station. That docking station is preparation.

If you are going through life without any plans for the future, then chances are you are not preparing. If you have a dream and you are not taking any actions towards that dream, you are not preparing. Preparation is the process that keeps athletes on the ball courts long after everyone else has left. Preparation is what wakes successful leaders two or more hours before the average person, to work on their goals.

What are some actions that an average person can take that can be considered preparation? Take education for example. If you have a high school diploma, then you should be working on an undergraduate degree. If you have an undergraduate degree, then you should be working on a graduate degree. Perhaps formal schooling would not benefit you. Perhaps your goal is to be a singer or a speaker. Then spend time learning how to sing or speak. Do not rely on your natural talents only. Thank God for those talents, but spend time sharpening yourself. Listen to experts in the fields you want to get into. Read books. Turn your car into a learning institution. Listen to books on CD's. All of these are examples of preparation. It is any action you are taking towards you being ready for when that time comes.

So you work full time. If you work for a company that has a tuition reimbursement plan, take advantage of it. Whatever the amount of the tuition is, it is 'more' money that the company is willing to give you to better you! I always count my annual salary, plus my bonuses and my tuition reimbursement to get a more accurate picture of what the company paid me. Tuition reimbursement is a good incentive for you to increase your marketability.

Hopefully you are working in an area that you enjoy and would like to remain in that field. If that is the case, take courses in that field. Your job is already providing you with the experience. So just add your "paper qualifications" to it. In fact, this is typically the stipulation for tuition reimbursements; It has to be job related.

When you are done with the degree or certification, you have made yourself more marketable. You have spent extra hours of your days going to school or taking courses. Now when opportunities for promotion within or outside the company comes, you will be able to confidently step up.

Change is Good!

By Jane Schulte

Somehow the thought of any real change causes a tightening in your chest, a lump in your throat and a burn in your stomach. Why? Change evokes fear automatically as a human response.

Since the beginning of time, mankind has grappled with change. We all know stories or have loved ones or friends who are so rigid in their thinking that even the most minor deviation from their daily routine sends them into a tailspin.

But change is good! Not for the sake of change, but because it shakes things up, allows you to broaden your scope and opens your mind to possibilities that were never apparent.

Resisting change causes a great deal of stress and can be extremely uncomfortable. But continuing to resist inevitable or positive change immobilizes people and their ability to perform their work at a high level. Some very smart and seemingly successful people have failed for this reason alone.

What can we do? Try this. Every time someone presents you with an opportunity for change or a new set of circumstances hits you square in the face and does not give you a choice, stop, relax and do not resist. Simply be with the news for a while. After all, the change is not usually going to occur instantaneously. I call it the 24 hour rule. See how you feel 24 hours later. By then you have had time to digest the information, visualize what aspects of your daily routine and life it will affect and then purposely look for ways that it could actually be a good thing. For with every change, even when it is perceived as bad, there is always something there that will propel you positively forward if you will let it.

Turn your fear of change into your love of improvement!

Self Improvement Is Not For Sissies

By Irene Conlan

Who said self improvement is easy? Well, it is and it is not. If your improvement program consists of losing 5 pounds or getting a new hair style it's easy. But to make those deep inner changes that draw you nearer to happiness, contentment, and success it may be more of a challenge.

To make changes on a deeply personal level you need to do an inspection through introspection and this needs to be done with neutral sight. It is important to drop the labels and the old programs that you run about yourself to see what's truly there. If you have the self esteem of a gnat it will be hard to do this without seeing only the negative and piling up such a heap of things to improve that it looks impossible. Digging deep to find everything that you believe is wrong with you is never wise and should be done only with the help of another person with skills to help you stay balanced during the process. There is no improvement if the introspection process leaves you discouraged and depressed. If your intention to improve is sincere and serious you will be able to find the starting place and go about it gently and steadily.

My suggestions is to start by improving the things that are already strengths for you. If you have an artistic flair, for example, develop it. Take some art lessons, visit art galleries to see what others have done, take a course from your local community college or an art teacher. If you have a gift for speaking join a Toastmaster's group, develop some presentations and alert the local service groups of your availability. Have someone videotape your speech and as you watch it, make notes for areas of improvement. Then practice until you are pleased with the next video tape you make. If you are a good cook, take some cooking classes to improve. Learn all you can about food preparation and presentation. Invite friends over to give you feed back on your feeding. If you like to write and want to improve your writing skills, write some articles and submit them to online article publishers. EzineArticles and Helium are two of them. Helium lets you judge the writing of others and has them judge yours to give you tips on how to improve. Both sites give you valuable writing tips. There are writing and poetry contests on the Internet that you can enter. Start a blog and write to it on a daily basis.Starting with your good traits and fine tuning them will give you confidence, increase your self esteem, help you meet new people, give you satisfaction in your improvement and gently open some of those deeper and more personal areas that need to be improved.

Self improvement isn't for sissies but for those who sincerely want to improve. But it doesn't have to be a process that opens all the old wounds and brings emotional pain. Be gentle but persistent. Start with the good stuff and make it better. We are holistic. What improves in one area improves the whole.

I'll see you later. I'm going to the gym to ride the exercise bike. That's my starting place for physical improvement.

Finding Motivation In A Box

By Brian Sure

There are many truths that we have to face in life. One, life really gives out lemons. Two, sometimes life snowballs us with so much lemons, we can't even begin to think of creating lemonades (as that popular saying goes.) And lastly, despite our pride, we do have to accept the fact that we need help collecting, slicing and squeezing those lemons and make one heck of a batch of lemonade to drink, to share and even sell in order to turn our fortunes around. Luckily, there are some blessed souls who are willing to offer us a bit of a helping hand - or to be more precise, a little push in the right direction. More often than not, it is that little push that helps us along the way.

We know we have the talents. We know we have the skills. We know we have the tools. We know we are going the right direction. We know what we need to accomplish the deed. We know how and when to get there. But sometimes, we need a lot of motivation to do those things.

At Breaking Free Industries, we have developed special products and services with the sole aim of providing that little push (sometimes great push) to keep us going. Our company knows that aside from the pressures of work, all of us have to contend with the different stimuli in our environment. Sometimes we are bogged down with problems in our home life and love life (or sometimes from the lack of it.) Sometimes unexpected things happen that throws us off the loop. Most times, we find ourselves in near perfect situations, even enviable circumstances but our negativity weighs us down so much that it affects the way we deal with everyone around us.

Our company has a collection of uplifting products that will not dictate how you should live your life, unlike other self help products that tell you what you should be doing with your time. Instead, here at Breaking Free Industries, we provide you the tools that will remind you of your strengths, your capabilities, and your inherent abilities. We believe that you already have what you need, but there are outside forces that may slow you down.

At Breaking Free Industries, our products and services will try to help you achieve three goals that you will set out for every month under our program. If you don't achieve these monthly goals, we can even give you a money back guarantee. We will give you the tools you need to find that positive energy through our inspirational books, music, pictures, movies and even a list of food to help your mood improve into a more positive setting.

Recently, our company has launched the BFI Box (Breaking Free Industries Box) where our company experts placed together a special package for those who are in search of that little push. The package contains: David Adams' I Am Breaking Free inspirational book; David Adams' Your Life. My Music. Our Story music CD collection; your own set of affirmation cards; and a CD containing a 1 to 1 Internet Motivation Software. As special bonus, we will even throw in our company's merchandise: your own BFI shirt, BFI mug and BFI cap.

Motivation - Setting Your Goals As Realistic As Possible

By Brian Sure

Goal setting is always an important factor when it comes to keeping yourself motivated. People often advise that you should keep your goals right in front of your eyes so as not to lose focus of the direction you are taking. Sure, this is good advice. However, some of us put unrealistic and superhuman goals before us, and when we fail to meet these goals, we feel depressed, unworthy and basically, less than superhuman. Once we start feeling this way, we lose our motivation to continue on. We need to set realistic goals in order to remain motivated. And here's how. One of the things to remember is that setting near impossible goal is simply that, it is near impossible to achieve. Although you might set this grandiose goals for yourself because you have such great faith in your abilities and capabilities, these just may be too Herculenean a task to perform at one go.

It is wonderful to set such long term goals like climbing Mt. Everest before your 40th year, or setting up your own multi-million Internet-based software company, or winning the Nobel Prize for physics. However, you have to realize that before you can actually accomplish these things, you need to put in a lot of hard work and you will meet a lot of trials (and failures) along the way. In order to remain motivated, you need to help yourself remain so. And you can do this by keeping short-term realistic goals that will eventually lead you to the fulfillment of your long term ones. Everyone would want to reach their goals, make no mistake about it. And everyone hates it when people start doubting their capabilities for reaching those goals. You are of no exception to this rule.

Keeping you goals realistic does not mean that you are doing yourself a great disservice by mistrusting your capacity to reach your goals. Realistic goals mean that you should set immediate actions to accomplish long-term benefits. A series of small triumphs will motivate you to move forward rather than back slide into oblivion.

For example, if you plan on reaching Mt. Everest sometime in your life, you could start by improving your climbing time, or improving your stamina or practicing extensively on other mountains. You could set up a short-term goal such as climbing the peaks of two mountains per year or even per month.

If you are planning on setting up your own multi-million Internet-based software company, you may want to start small and improve your company until it branches out on its own. You could set up such short-term goals such as doubling your sales per month, or outranking one or two of your competition in software development, or even hiring more professionals to suit the demands of your company.

If winning the Nobel Prize for physics is what you seek, some of your short term goals may include: finding sponsors to fund further research on your treatises, writing a paper about your research, or even writing one chapter of your book.

Harnessing The Power Of Affirmation

By Brian Sure

Affirmation is not a new method of positive thinking. It is, however, a much-discussed method of value judgment. The formal term actually is New Thought Affirmation. So what is it really? The word affirmation comes from the Latin word affirmare which means to assert. New Thought Affirmation basically works that way: you assert positive notion on a very personal note. In psychology, this is called autosuggestion; or simply put, you let your mind influence the way you act, feel and move. In the case of New Thought Affirmation, you are making your entire being veer into specific but positive things you want to accomplish.

For a number of individuals, mental visualization is usually accompanied by recitations of affirmative actions. You may have heard of people looking at the mirror (or even muttering under their breath) repeating such mantras like, I am doing well today or I am a winner or I am getting that promotion today. For others, affirmation takes effect through written text, where people write down their goals repeatedly to remind themselves of whatever goals they have set up. An example of written affirmation is: I am making a huge step to better my career or I am overcoming my physical ailments or I am making this career change for my future.

In case you haven't noticed, all these affirmative recitations are in the present tense and not in the future tense. All of these start with I because this is a very positive action dedicated to oneself; and it is often accompanied by the word am. The words I am are proving better in effect than the words I will. This is because New Thought Affirmation deals with the situation at hand, and nothing else.

New Thought Affirmation is therefore really harnessing the power of the mind. With all the studies conducted about sheer will power, we all know that we have the potential to do the near impossible things just because we put our minds to it.

So How Can Affirmation Help?

Affirmation offers some individuals a sort of healing from all the negativity around them. By focusing on the positive side of their attitudes, they are able to block out the own negative thoughts and the negative energy around them. This method of positive thinking gives individuals full control of their mental and emotional stability. In a way, they are able to dictate what they should be feeling despite forces that say otherwise. For example, during a very stressful day, a person may have the mantra, "I am doing the right thing." This helps that person keep his or her temper in check while at the same time, performing whatever stressful task is assigned to him or her.

Another great benefit to affirmation is that an individual can override other people's opinion. Some of us do have the tendency to be affected by what we think are other people's perception of us, whether they are real or not. By simply affirming to ourselves that we believe in what we are capable of, we tend to block out everything else.
